Changgil Kim is a Visiting Scholar at Seoul National University Asia Centre. He works on climate-smart agriculture in Southeast Asia, and he is also working to establish the Global High-Tech Agriculture Network (GHAN) to train agricultural human resources in developing countries. He worked as an agricultural economist at the Korea Rural Economic Institute (KREI) for 30 years, conducting research on agri-environmental policies and serving as KREI president for the last three years of his career. He chaired the OECD Joint Working Party on Agriculture and Environment for four years starting in 2014, and currently serves as the Chairman of the Rural Affairs Subcommittee of the Presidential Committee on Agriculture, Fisheries, and Rural Policy from 2022 to the present.
